Voltage Sensitive Imaging

For the simultaneous recording of many cortical areas we built a ratiometric mesoscopic wide-field imaging to monitor voltage fluctuations across the neocortex. Having a temporal resolution comparable with electrophysiology, this approach allows us to record optical imaging in awake behaving animals over a period of days or weeks. For this, we use a genetically encoded voltage indicator (or GEVI) line of mice selectively in pyramidal neurons in all cortical layers.
